About this deal

I am a homosexual who also grew up in *much* less tolerant times (having been born one year after JD). I’ve never read this author before but am aware of some of his other books and I think that this book was a good one to start with.

Gaurd your heart, accept people for who they are and not what the can be (good or bad) and protect yourself.Overall, if you've never read anything about Dahmer and enjoy true crime, definitely start with this author!

Looking at the best in people is a good way to look at things but not to the point of being foolish. Far too often when reading or watching documentaries about serial killers their victims are glossed over and forgotten while their killer’s name is remembered. The difference with someone who claims the insanity defence is that they didn’t know what they were doing at the time. Like you said, not all teenagers with severe alcohol problems, and even troubled childhoods, become what he did.

It is very hard to go into depth to figure out why crazy people do crazy things but you do a great job of emphasizing there are a variety of factors and also introducing the background history of Dahmer.

Het boek leest snel weg, mede vanwege de simpele schrijfstijl (love it), je moet soms even stilstaan bij waar je over leest. These people are often sentenced to an unknown period of custody in a secure mental health facility. They had no idea of the extent of his depravity, of what he was really capable of, the fact that he acted so normal and ordinary is very disturbing. Both parents made big mistakes from what I've read, but I can sympathise with both, as they did their best considering. It doesn’t make you a monster, it’s an illness that needs to be managed just like any other physical illness. Maybe it’s bc I have BPD as well (on the less severe side of the scale), idk, but I just wished we stopped seeing people as crazy and instead people who need help. Unfortunately I had to edit my review because it was too long, but I hope people still read my book review. However, I did that he referenced a couple other books to debate the claims made in said books but it was still dripping with condescending tones rather than allowing the reader to make their own mind up from the thoughts he had brought up. I LOVE criminal minds and stuff like that, so I am always so fascinated to hear a little bit more about their personalities and personal life.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Although German authorities would later investigate possible connections between Dahmer and murders that took place in the area during that time, it is not believed that he took any more victims while serving in the Armed Forces. These aspects detracted from how seriously I felt the book could be taken as a factual account of the crimes and person of Jeffrey Dahmer. The biases and lack of policing and racism of this whole real life tragedy are what is most sickening and the police and county of this time and age should be ashamed and crucified. She was on a total of 27 tablets per day including anti depressants, progesterone and growth hormones. What I do know is that, thanks to the Dahmer case, alot of officers some of who were captains were dismissed.
