About this deal

The food was delicious and was well presented I had the bananatella pancakes and a Oreo mega milkshake it was fabulous!

The Lemon Tree Cafe itself was an inviting hub in the village of Barnaby and Cathy Bramley's writing left me feeling I knew the village and the cafe as well as the large cast of characters. Maria is a remarkably private person and I never guessed exactly what she was hiding until it was revealed. The main character confronts her rapist and ends up being apologetic because he is somehow the real victim? This is my last attempt to listen to a Cathy Bramley title if Colleen Prendergast continues to narrate the books as she has done fo the past 7 audio titles. You know, it is really hard to explain why I love Cathy Bramley's books so much without repeating over and over again that they are full of warmth, honesty, genuine characters and this so hard to capture feel - good factor - and "The Lemon Tree Cafe" had it all!to share a tray bake which meant we had to have the same, which was actually the best bit as it was bought in so it was a pity you couldn't get one each, no fruit scones just plain ones, they were tasteless. Nicknamed Mr Manchester, he transformed the Northern music scene as founder of Factory Records and the Hacienda nightclub after earning a cult following as a television presenter. Our lunchtime favourites are very popular such as homemade steak and ale pie, liver and bacon with leek and onion mash, we even have a hot dessert of the day. I finished it because I did not want to waste my book credit used although feel I wasted it on this one ! Rich espresso, delicious biscotti and juicy village gossip - will Rosie fall for this new way of life? I was nearly too late to have a breakfast as went soon after 2pm but one of the ladies said it was not a problem and she would happily go and make a start on making what I wanted. I just hope that Miss Bramley is not turning into the second Paige Toon and all of her future books will be like this. Neither did I fully guess just why Rosie doesn't trust men, and it was surprises like these that made this book so gripping.I warmed to the book and the characters right at the beginning - even to the all - knowing nonna (you know I have huge problems with wiser than wise older aunts, grandmas, cousins in the stories. But there was this weird preachy tone of the book where Rosie would learn what a bad person she was or something (even though i didn't see this) and it even seeped into this storyline. We complained to management but she just apologised but we still had to pay for it even though we left most of it. Rosie finds herself unexpectedly out of a job and offers to help out her lovely Italian grandmother by working at her cafe, the Lemon Tree Cafe – a little slice of Italy nestled in the rolling hills of Derbyshire – it seems like the perfect way to keep busy.

Small clothing section and the usual gift items plus garden stuff and a good selection of outdoor plants. everything done with the feeling of a family cared for business - staff top notch and everyone gave the impression of "wanting to help" - local made food, sensible pricing, great range and excellent coffee together with free wifi and (for summer) outside as well as inside dining. Relatable characters that had me chuckling away as usual with Cathy's stories, I enjoyed reading more about Gabe, Noah and new character Rosie. I really appreciate your feedback regarding the meat free breakfast as I am always open to suggestions for improvements. There is a good selection of cakes, cookies, and scones, as well as savory items such as sausage rolls, sandwiches, paninis, and pastries. We take pride in using local, fresh and seasonal produce and aim to offer the best food from breakfast-to teatime and beyond. I live with my family in a small village just outside the city, our house overlooks fields of barley in one direction and horses in the other, and our garden is full of fruit trees: damson; plum; pear and of course, Bramley apples! Mars, Snickers, Chocolate Orange – wonderful to have the best brownies imaginable with the variety of favourite chocolates!
