About this deal

Ki No Tea is a unique expression bursting with intense aromas and depth from the finest tencha and gyokuro, grown in the Uji region of Kyoto, home of the distillery! The gin is, unusually, based on a rice spirit and draws on local Japanese botanicals such as yellow yuzu, hinoki (cypress wood), sansho pepper, bamboo leaf and gyokuro tea. Each of these 6 Elements is then macerated in rice spirit before being distilled individually and then blended together with pure water from a well in Fushimi. The spirit is then left to marry which allows the disparate flavours to harmonise, giving perfect balance. These distillates are then masterfully blended together before being left to marry, allowing the different flavours to harmonise and creating perfect balance.A Ki No Bi Gin gift set from The Kyoto Distillery, a perfect gift or way to sample the delightful gins from Japan! The distillates are masterfully blended before being left to marry together, allowing the disparate flavours to harmonise, giving our gin perfect balance. The Kyoto Distillery is proud to partner with Champagne Henri Giraud in this ground-breaking collaboration, which came about after the visit of 12th-generation owner Claude Giraud to The Kyoto Distillery. Ki No Bi Gin has a great, oily juniper beginning, but yuzu quickly steps in to send the gin spiralling, followed by a briny sansho and light tea. Distilled at Japan’s first dedicated gin distillery, built in Kyoto in 2014, it is made with obsessive attention to detail, care and precision, from a high-quality rice spirit and Japanese botanicals such as yuzu, lemon, sansho pepper, ginger and gyokuro tea.

Inspired by tradition, KI NO BI (‘The Beauty of the Seasons’) is distilled, blended and bottled in Japan’s first purpose-built gin distillery in Kyoto.
